When choosing a table finish material, it’s a good idea to consider what flooring you have in your space. For example, if you have tiled or wooden flooring, a chrome, glass or mirrored, finished console table would be ideal for adding a crisp and modern look to the space.
A white or grey oak veneer finish has a wonderfully tactile and textured quality as you can see the stylish wood grain running throughout. Oak veneer finishes are much less reflective than gloss, making it a great alternative to having a bright, glossy finish in your home.
Average Heights. Most console tables range in height from 26 to 36 inches. The difference in height depends on the style and age of the table. Longer tables generally run taller to keep proportions balanced. Antique console tables, such as the heavy and ornate pieces of Louis XIV are higher, while sleek, Mid-Century Modern styles average much shorter. Most modern consoles fall in the 29 to 33 inch range.
While natural creative flair certainly can play a part, successful styling is not something that just happens by chance. There is actually a few simple steps that can be followed to help make your console table look effortlessly chic and eye-catching!
